We have all had a moment in time when we think we have injured our eye or experienced blurred vision during something routine. Most of the time, we just brush it off once the situation resolves itself and are relieved to go about our day. But when should you visit an emergency eye clinic to make sure your eye health is preserved?
Eye Infections, Red or Painful Eyes, or Uncomfortable, Itchy Eyes. Any time you think you may have an eye infection, have red, painful eyes or they are uncomfortable and itchy but you aren’t sure what’s happened to cause them to feel this way, please visit an emergency eye clinic. Eye infections can sometimes be contagious and, if left untreated, may cause further damage. Allergies and other external factors may also cause your eyes to be painful or uncomfortable. Having an eye professional examine your eyes is critical to resolving these issues.
Debris or Foreign Objects in the Eye. Sometimes your work or home environment may cause you to have debris or a foreign object becoming lodged in your eye. When this occurs, it is important to allow an eye professional to examine the eye and determine the best course of action.
Contact Lens Issues or Injuries to the Eye. Contact lenses can tear or become damaged, or there may be an injury to the eye requiring an eye professional to assess the situation. Never try to resolve the situation at home! If you have any concerns, please make sure to visit an emergency eye clinic.
