Routine Eye Exams are Important Even with Good Vision

Good eye health is about more than just having good vision, and this is true throughout your life. There are a number of conditions that can be resolved when diagnosed early through routine eye exams, so even if you are not noticing any chances in your vision, you should still get an exam from time to time. At Dr. Miller & Dr. Tilis Family Optometry, we conduct thorough routine eye exams, so you can rest assured you have done everything you can to preserve your sight.

Eye Exams

It is said that the eyes are the window to the soul – well, we don’t know about that, but we do know that routine eye exams can often be a window to other things going on with your health. For example, while many know that diabetes can lead to retina damage and loss of vision, routine eye exams can also aid in the diagnosing of this disease, sometimes catching it way before other symptoms lead you to go to your family doctor. In some rare instances, brain tumours and blood pressure issues have also been diagnosed through routine eye exams.

As we age, we are more susceptible to a number of eye diseases, such as glaucoma, which, when caught early through routine eye exams, can be treated more successfully. On the other end of the spectrum, problems such as lazy eye can be resolved completely when caught early, so even the very young should have routine eye exams.

We make it easy to take care of this vital part of your preventative health care plan by having appointment hours that are convenient for families. We schedule appointments certain evenings and also on Saturdays, so you don’t have to miss work to take care of yourself.  We treat your family like our family!
